Be Quick! Special Vendor System
Script version: 1.0
Last update: 05/04/2023
“Be Quick!” is a promotional vending system designed to offer special priced items to your customers, increasing traffic to your store.
Easily customizable via notecard, it will let you define the prices' range for every object and the frequency it will be shown on the vendor.
On the vendor, the randomly chosen item will be shown at a certain discounted price for a set amount of time.
Once the object has been bought, the system will swap to another object, with potentially a different price.
Basic elements
The tool is made of one element:
[V] Be Quick!- The Original Vending Terminal included in the product
Inside you will have a script and a notecard.
You can of course use another vendor, if you prefer. You will have to specify the face where to show the Advert in the Description of the object.
Let's start
The concept of this tool is very simple. Just rez the vendor, and you will see inside the actual script and the configuration notecars:
Initially the Vendor will of course be disabled, since there are some missing things, in particular the object you want to sell.
The first thing to do is of course to open the notecard, and to fill it in with the information related to the objects you want to offer:
The configuration
The configuration of the object is done via a notecard, that is divided into 2 parts:
- The timer, where you will be able to decide for how long an item will be offered to the customers
- The Objects section, where you will put the information of the objects you want to put on sale
The Objects section
The core of the notecard is of course the objects section, in here you will have
Name of the object(it HAS to be EXACTLY the name of the item you will then put inside the vendor)uuid of the item advertthe script will show the AD in the face 2, so that your customers will know what they are buyingweightthis number indicates how often the object will be shown to the customers. The higher the number, the more often this item will be shown to the customersmin priceandmax pricethe script is built so that to choose a random price between the two that you will indicate here every time this product is randomly selected by the script.
You can put as many objects you want in this vendor, but for each and everyone of them you will have to create a section in the notecard.
In the provided example, there are two objects, but there can be as many as you want, and nothing prevents you to use the same object twice, if, for instance, you want to offer a very interesting discount on an item, but you want this discount to be possible only very rarely.
IMPORTANT
This product is NOT a Gatcha system. Your customers will always know perfectly what they are buying.
Let's roll!
Once you have finished the notecard, and put the items inside the vendor
you just need to click on the vendor to activate it,
allow the script to manage your lindens (actually, send you the lindens when somebody will buy your items)
and done, finished!
Now according to the number you defined in the timer section, every tot seconds the script will offer a new item whose price will be in between the min e max limit you have inserted in the notecard:
Your customers will always be informed of what is for sale, at what price and for how long:
The items with a lower weight will be shown less frequently than the others:
Errors
There are of course a series of possible errors. Every time there will be an IM sent to you, and the Vendor will be disabled to avoid problems.
Once you checked the error, and solved it, it will be enough to click on the vendor to activate it.
No objects
If there are no objects in the Vendor, of course it will disable. Just insert into the Vendor the correct objects (yes, it will check the names) and click on it, it will start working again.
No notecard
If the notecard has the wrong name, or it is not there, of course you will get an error and the Vendor will disable.
Just put inside the correct notecard and click on the Vendor itself.
