[Ginger Line] G&S Global feeder

Latest version: 3.0
This product is discontinued due to changes in the G&S system

General information

The system is made of three elements:
1. A global repository for all G&S ingredients (the Cookbook)
2. A kitchen tray for the G&S Kitchen (the Tray)
3. A Plank for the producers (milk factory, distillery, etc)
and it’s suitable for a full region that uses the G&S system.

Features

1. Region wide connection - The system is designed to be used in a full region as well as in a parcel. It will NOT interact with other [Ginger Line] G&S Global feeder or [Ginger Line] G&S Kitchen feeder owned by other users in the same region
2. Lifetime updates - You will access for free to any further release of this tool. Please check further down in this documents for info
3. Security - The Tray use is limited to the people in the same group of the Tray itself. You can anyway choose if only the Tray owner can use it.
The communication channel between the Tray and the Cookbook is secure, that means that even if there are different [Ginger Line] G&S Kitchen feeder of different users in your Region, these will not interact
4. Speed - The system is designed to deliver as fast as possible a ingredient to the Tray. Of course the more items are in the Cookbook, the more the system will take to find a specific ingredient and rez it.
5. Drag&Drop functionality - Everybody can drag and drop an ingredient in the Cookbook from his/her own inventory. Simply keep the Ctrl button pressed while dragging an ingredient from the inventory to the Cookbook

Instructions

The Cookbook

The Cookbook is the global repository for all your ingredients and G&S objects.
You can fill it with all the ingredients you need and use in your G&S kitchen.
By clicking on it, a menu will appear and you will be able to:

1. Update button: check if any update is available. If there is a new version of the [Ginger Line] G&S Global feeder, this will be sent to you. Please note that to avoid lag and useless message, the search for updates is not automatic: you have to click on updates button in menu. Keep tuned with the Velvet Whip Store Group to be aware of any news, or visit regularly the store or check the button from time to time.
2. Show/hide button: activate or deactivate the over-text on the Cookbook to see how many ingredients are inside (there is a limitation in the number of character that can be present in an overtext, please be aware that not all the loaded ingredients may be shown)
3. IM button: have the complete list of the ingredients sent to your IM

The Cookbook will send the ingredients to the kitchen Tray, and send the owner of the tool an IM when there are less than 3 elements left of one specific ingredient.

The Kitchen Tray

The kitchen Tray is your main tool for the G&S kitchen.
By clicking on the Tray, a menu will open.
In this menu you have the following buttons:
- Meat - Sweet - Other - Boxes/Sacks - Fish - Drink - Access - Exit
When selecting any of the first 6 buttons (Meat, Sweet, Other, Base/Boxes, Fishes, Drink) a new menu will open, allowing you to choose between the various ingredients.

Meat

This submenu contains all the ingredients that are under the category meat
Please not that in case of tarks, bosks and verr, this menu will rez ONLY the single piece of meat, NOT the full box of meat. So, if there are only boxes in the Cookbook, nothing will be rezzed on the tray.

Sweet

This submenu contains all the ingredients that are under the category sweet.

Other

This submenu contains all the ingredients that are under the category other.
Single bowls of milk, butter, cream and so on will be available in this submenu.
As for the other categories, the single ingredient (not the box, sack, etc) will be loaded on the tray.
Of course the Cookbook has to be loaded with the single ingredients, opening and emptying boxes, sacks, etc

Boxes/Sacks

This submenu contains all the ingredients that are under the category Boxes/Sacks.
All the sack of flour, boxes of meat, basket of fruit fall in this category.
This has been done in order to rationalize the usage of the ingredients, and make it more simple to use the Tray

Fishes

This submenu contains all the ingredients that are under the category Fishes, including the new ingredients released in April 2015

Drink

This submenu contains all the ingredients that are considered drink, included the milk bowl and the beer

Access

The Tray is by default open to the group.
If you want it to be available only for yourself, it will be enough to click on the Access button. A message (whisper) in public chat will tell you the access level of the tray. To activate again the access to the group, is enough to click again on the Access button. A message in chat will tell you that the group can access the tool.

Reset

It can happen that the Box got stuck in case of lag in the sim or when moving too many ingredients in or out of the Cookbook. In this case, by selecting the button Reset, the CookBook will reinitialize. This operation will solve the 90% of the possible issues with the tool.

The Plank

The Plank is used to rez ingredients that are normally used for producers and for the animals’ feeders.
Once rezzed, the Plank is stopped. A overtext will confirm that the Plank is stopped, and so no ingredients will be loaded on it.
By selecting the Plank, a menu will be shown.
From the menu you will be able to choose the type of ingredient(s) to be rezzed on the Plank, choosing if to rez a single ingredient or a couple of ingredients on the Plank.
Once you have selected the ingredient(s), the plank will be automatically activated. The overtext will disappear and the object(s) will be rezzed.
The system is built to get only the boxes/sacks from the Cookbook, not the single ingredients.

If for whatever reason you need to stop the Plank, click on the Plank and select the button Halt

Updates - Walkthrough

To be sure to have the latest one, check your version by clicking Check updates on the menu from the Cookbook (click on it).

It is possible to update the items you already have rezzed (Cookbook and Tray), but is quite a complex procedure and it's easy to make a mistake.
Only experienced user should perform this operations

1. rez the updated elements (Cookbook, Tray, Plank)
2. create 3 folders in your inventory ( called Cookbook, Tray, Plank)
3. Copy in the folder called Cookbook the script present in the Cookbook that you have rezzed
4. Copy in the folder called Tray the scripts present in the Tray that you have rezzed
5. Copy in the folder called Plank the scripts present in the Plank that you have rezzed
6. Delete the original scripts in the Tray and Cookbook of the old version and copy in them the version that you have copied from the new version
7. Do the same for ALL the planks that you have rezzed (open them in edit mode, delete the scripts inside and copy the one that are in the folder that you have created in your inventory)
8. You will have to reset the planks and define again the object to be rezzed
9. Change the description field in the Cookbook with the correct version (see the current version in the name of the box you have received)

Tips&Tricks

If the counter of the ingredients seems to be stuck (and it can happen when there are more than 200/300 objects inside), just reset the Cookbook, and the tool will be forced to recount all the items inside.
There are a lot of ingredients in the G&S system. To have a Cookbook with all the ingredients inside will slow it terribly down or cause script errors. It can be a good idea to split them into 2 or 3 Cookbooks. Of course the same ingredients have to be set in the same Cookbook, otherwise you may have unexpected behaviours.
If you have more places where you cook, you can place several trays around. They will all be feeded by the same Cookbook(s).
When you fill the Cookbook for the first time, a over-text “Initializing” will be shown. This will happen every time you reset the Cookbook and when the tool is “counting” the items inside.
It can be a good idea to have a Cookbook filled with the things that are used for animals and producers, and another (at least) for the kitchen. In this way the gathering of the ingredients will be faster, and definitely more structured.
if you get a “ [script:listener_region x.y] Script run-time error Stack-Heap Collision” check that you have not put more than 400 objects in the book, and remember that you have to put the single eggs, not the basket, as the system does not recognize it.
Do not add other objects in the book, only the G&S ingredients.
Rence bales and Ka-la-na baskets change names according if rezzed or not. If your rence and your Ka-la-na basket are not counted by the book, take them off it, rez them and put them back into the book.
