Subscribe Me! Off World Subscriber system

Script version: 1.00
Last update: 09/08/2022

Subscribe Me! is a web based Off World Subscriber tool that allows your guests/customers to subscribe to an off world list that you can then use to send messagesin world and/or objects directly to your subscribers.
There can be many different subscribers in different area of your sim or in different sims, and the system can be completely managed offline, even if a in world Owner Terminal is present as well.
There is no limit in the number of subscriber you can have, and a single licence of this product covers up to 5 different active subscribers, while the number of subscriber terminals you can use is not limited at all.
This is a fully operational tool that links Second Life™ with an external platform, accessible via your in-world name and a password that can be retrieved from the Virtualty Office. (http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Falcata/70/154/26)

Basic elements

The tool is made of two elements:

  • [V] Subscriber Owner Terminal - The object contains a single script, subscriberOwnerTerminal x.y
  • [V] Subscriber - The object contains a single script, subscriber x.y

Plus of course the Management website, that can be reached at
https://manageme.virtualty.space/users/login.php
The access credentials can be obtained at Virtualty Office (http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Falcata/70/154/26)
Manage Me! is the primary place where to go to edit your Subscriber and create new ones, even if this can be done also in world.

First Use

Very simply, just rez the Owner terminal in your workshop/home or whereever you want, and rez the Subscriber where you desire.
After a few moments, you will receive an IM from VirtualtyPostmaster stating that the first configuration is finished and you can now activate the Subscriber: If you now click on the Subscriber, one of the following two windows will open to you: this of couse in case you have no Subscriber created or not.
As you can see, if you have not already created a Subscriber, you can create one directly.
After creating it, you will have to configure it completely in Manage Me! and, most importantly, Activate it.
Once you have selected or created the Subscriber you want, a couple of messages will be sent to you: The subscriber is then absolutely ready to work.
If for whatever reason you need to disable it, just click on it Once you want to re-activate it, again just click on it
Needless to say, this is valid only for the owner.

Configuration

As I said, most of the configuration is done in Manage Me!
Just login with your credentials in the Portal and you will find a link to Subscribe Me! in your top bar You will then arrive in the page where all your subscribers (if any) are present: If you want, you can also create a new Subscriber from here.

Select a Subscriber to go to the specific page for this Subscriber
It is quite clear what every single voice is meant for.
The most important thing is the Configuration In particular in this page you can define what you want to have as message sent to your customers/guests when they subscribe, and the way this message has to be delivered.
We use a Bot (VirtualtyPostmaster) to deliver all the messages in world, receiving hence the information from a real avatar, and not an impersonal Instant Message. But of course you can feel free to select one or the other method of communication.
Please note, that what you select here will be used also for the option to send a message from the in world Owner Terminal.

Send Message

It is possible to send messages to your subscribers directly from Manage Me!, with the limitation that they can only be sent via VirtualtyPostmaster

View/Edit Subscribers

Here you can view the subscribers' name, as well as access their web profile, and delete them.
Please remember that the Delete option is final. There is no way to recuperate the user once it has been deleted.

Import/Export

It is possible to both import and export the Subscribers
Clicking on Download CSV you will receive the prompt to save a file on your computer.
This file will be a CSV (comma separated value) file which is the standard to import data into a spreadsheat program
The Import button will open a new window, where you can choose the CSV file you want to be imported into the tool.
Please note that this file HAS to be made with a specific and precise structure, as highlighted in the above picture.

In case you also use our Welcome Me! , you can activate the Subscribe option in it and link it here to your subscriber.
Actually, the only thing to do is to select the (already active) Welcome me! welcome mat from the dropdown menu:

Q&A

Normally, in case of errors you will receive a message from VirtualtyPostmaster stating the error and in some cases the Terminal may get Disabled.

Error 15

The Subscriber has not been found, and this is normally a very good reason to disable the Terminal.
It means that the system cannot find your avatar in the list of the avatars that are using the system.
It is sometime due to a communication glitch, try please deleting the Terminal and rez a new one.

Error 20

Ops! You forgot to renew the subscription…
You can do that at the Virtualty Office (http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Falcata/70/154/26)
